Analysis of Libyan Conflict Lying

At the start of a war, the first casualty is the truth.

Lie: The Anti-Gaddafi persons are protesters, rebels, or pro-democracy.

Truth: The Anti-Gaddafi side of the Libyan Civil Conflict were sort of protesters that acted more like Mubarak’s thugs. Gaddafi’s side were rebels against the Old Monarchy, and the bring back the Old Monarchy of King Idris, Counter-Revolutionaries are actually anti-rebels. Being advocates of bringing back the Old Monarchy the counter-revolutionaries are anti-democracy.

Lie: The Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionaries needed a No-Fly Zone imposed by the UN to put Tripoli under siege and defeat Gaddafi themselves.

Truth: When the UN didn’t impose a No-Fly Zone at that time, the Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionaries were not only unable to put Tripoli under siege, they were driven back to where they started, Bengazi, and then needed a No-Fly Zone to save them from defeat by Gaddafi’s still pro-democracy anti-Old Monarchy rebels.

Lie: Rebel forces, (hampered by a lack of organization, training and military know-how when compared to Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's troops),  have been demanding an end to Gadhafi's almost 42-year rule in Libya. But they have been facing sustained attacks and have called for the international community to supply them with better and more powerful equipment.

Truth: Before the No-Fly Zone was approved, the counter-revolutionaries claimed to only need a No Fly Zone to defeat Gaddafi’s forces.

Lie: A No-Fly Zone imposed by the UN was all that was needed by the Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionaries.

Truth: After persons were sold on the No Fly Zone in order to make the Gaddafi vs. Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionaries battle in Bengazi more even destructive, it turned out that more than a No Fly Zone was needed. After the fact, what was needed was a No Fly Zone, Cease Fire, Safe Areas, an attack on Gaddafi’s forces of protection from an armed Old Monarchy Counter-Revolution, and a full scale attack on Gaddafi by democracy-invalidating foreign forces.

Lie: Gaddafi didn’t abide by his own unilateral declaration of a cease fire immediately after the UN voted to impose a No Fly Zone, Cease Fire, Safe Areas, and attack on the intending to cease fire Gaddafi’s forces.

Truth: Gaddafi’s forces could declare a unilateral cease fire, however, a bilateral ceasefire was actually needed for the safety of all parties concerned, and the Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionaries never agreed to a cease fire, and therefore helping them with an attack on Gaddafi’s forces was unethical.

Lie: No one knows how the four journalist captured by Gaddafi’s forces, and then released six days later, were captured (when reporting on fighting on the Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionary side).

Truth: The No Fly Zone was supposed to make sure Gaddafi’s forces jet fighter-bombers were not flying. When the No Fly Zone was ratified by the UN, Gaddafi’s forces declared a cease fire. Then coalition forces jet fighters entered Libya, and the only plane they found in the air and shot down was an Old Monarchy Counter-Revolutionary jet fighter. One news report stated that the jet fighter was shot down accidentally by fellow counter-revolutionaries. Possibly also war time pathological lying. A spokesman for David Cameron said the prime minister had spoken by telephone to Amr Moussa after the Arab League's secretary general expressed concern about civilian casualties caused by British, American and French air attacks which, he suggested, exceeded their UN mandate. The Gaddafi regime claims dozens of civilians have been killed and hundreds wounded in the past two days. Despite evident pressure to tone down his remarks, Moussa confirmed he had called an emergency meeting of Arab League ambassadors on Tuesday to discuss Libya. He reiterated his view that while the league had backed a no-fly zone, it had not supported attacks on Gaddafi's armed forces and military and communications infrastructure, as carried out during Operation Odyssey Dawn over the weekend.Gen. Carter F. Ham, the head of the United States Africa Command, also said he had “full authority” to attack the regime’s forces if they refused to comply with President Obama’s demands that they pull back from Ajdabiya, Misurata and Zawiya. Then there is attacking Gaddafi’s forces as they were retreating from Benghazi.

Lie: Col Muammar Gaddafi's air force "no longer exists as a fighting force", the commander of British aircraft operating over Libya has said. Air Vice Marshal Greg Bagwell said the allies could now operate "with near impunity" over the skies of Libya. "We are watching over the innocent people of Libya and ensuring that we protect them from attack," he said. "We have the Libyan ground forces under constant observation and we attack them whenever they threaten civilians or attack population centres."

Truth: Gaddafi’s forces were not using their Air Force after the declaration of a No Fly Zone and a unilateral ceasefire by Gaddafi’s forces.

Post-Script: "there are also reports of fierce fighting between rebels and pro-Gaddafi forces in the strategic eastern town of Ajdabiya. Residents fleeing the town described shelling, gunfire and houses on fire."
