New Messages From Moscow

The Trump-Russia Special Counsel:
"The object of the conspiracy was to hack into the computers of U.S. persons and entities involved in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, steal documents from those computers, and stage releases of the stolen documents to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election."

April 6 2016, GRU Unit 26165 sent spear phishing emails to 30+ Clinton Campaign employees, directing them to a GRU-created website, disguised as the false document, “hillaryclinton-favorable-rating.xlsx.”

April 10 2016, George Papadopoulos emailed the Female Russian National, (Putin's "niece" Olga Polonskaya), and Joseph Mifsud, about a foreign policy trip to Russia.


April 11 2016, Papadopoulos emailed Polonskaya (cc’ing Joseph Mifsud) about arranging a foreign policy trip to Russia. Mifsud replied to Papadopoulos: “this is already been agreed.” and “I am flying to Moscow on the 18th for a Valdai meeting, plus other meetings at the Duma.”


April 18 2016, Mifsud travels to Moscow, and introduces Papadopoulos to a Russian individual connected to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ivan Timofeev, via Skype and email.


April 19 2016, More than a month before the release of any documents, GRU Unit 26165 constructed the online persona DCLeaks.com to release and publicize stolen election-related documents.


April 22 2016, GRU Unit 26165 prepares massive amounts of data for exfiltration from the DNC’s servers. They compress GBs of data from DNC computers, including opposition research, then moved the compressed DNC data using X-Tunnel to a GRU-leased computer located in Illinois.


April 26 2016, Mifsud returns from Moscow to London, and informed Papadopoulos that the Kremlin had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton in the form of “1000s of emails,” and previewed the Russians’ release of this information. Papadopoulos had understood that Mifsud had met with Russian officials in Moscow, immediately prior to relaying this information. In April of 2016, not even the DNC or Clinton campaign appears to have been aware that the Russians were in possession of private emails.


April 27 2016, George Papadopoulos emails the Donald Trump for President campaign, “I have some interesting messages coming in from Moscow about a trip when the time is right.”


May 4 2016, Papadopoulos made reference to the Russian dirt during a conversation he had in a London bar with the senior Australian diplomat in Britain. The Australians passed the information to the USA, & the FBI opened its investigation into Trump-Russia.
